ADULT WORKSHOPS
SARAH KING BARTELL
Advanced Playwriting for Adults*
SUNDAYS, NOVEMBER 15 & 22 | 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM | AGES 18 & UP
MAXIMUM OF 6 PARTICIPANTS
This workshop is for playwrights age 18 and older who have plays already in development. Day 1 of the workshop will focus on script analysis. Playwrights will read selections from each others’ work and discuss structure, character development, and plot construction. Playwrights will then have the following week to work on their scripts then return for Day 2, a follow-up in which playwrights will again read each others’ work aloud, and discuss how they used Day 1’s discussion and analysis to revise their scripts.

Beginning Improv for Adults

This workshop will introduce participants to the basics of improv. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or you’re looking for a refresher course, Sue Ellen’s got you covered, with games and exercises that will shake up your thinking and (re)spark your spontaneity!

Beginning Playwriting for Kids
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25 | 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM | AGES 8 TO 13
MAXIMUM OF 8 PARTICIPANTS
This workshop, which will focus on the basics: story structure, character development, conflict, and plot construction, all leading to the creation of a 10-minute play by each participant. Playwrights will read their work aloud and discuss what worked and what they might change in the future.
AL BOSTICK, JR.
Telling Tales and Making Faces
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7 | 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM | AGES 8 TO 13
MAXIMUM OF 12 PARTICIPANTS
This two-hour mask-making and storytelling workshop is just in time for Halloween! Participants will listen as Mr. Al tells a story, then they'll discuss the story and explore the characters by creating their own masks and re-telling the story together.

Sarah King Bartell...
...grew up in Norman and in 2012 co-founded and was the Executive Director for the Namron Players Theatre. She executed all aspects of Namron, from auditions to advertising to fundraising, and handed off the reins in 2019 to pursue her career in theatre. Sarah was House Manager for the Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma from January 2019-March 2020. She also writes plays and performs around the metro area. She has participated in numerous 24-Hour Play festivals and her newest play, One Star, just premiered at the Theatre Crude 2020 Fringe Festival in OKC.
Albert H. Bostick Jr....
...(aka Mr. Al, Mr. B, and sometimes, just to cover all the bases, Mr. Albostick) is an actor, director, playwright, choreographer, visual artist, folklorist and storyteller—a true Renaissance artist. He is also a New Orleans-born Griot who has toured Oklahoma as a State Arts Council Artist-in-Residence, and has worked with several Oklahoma theatres, including the Pollard in Guthrie, Carpenter Square Theatre in OKC, and American Theatre Company in Tulsa. Mr. Bostick served as the Artistic Director of OKC’s Black Liberated Arts Center for 15 years. He is currently Arts Director for Basically Bostick Projects, Inc., which creates performance opportunities for African-American artists in the Oklahoma City area. Sue Ellen Reiman...
...has performed in the Metro for over 30 years with Reduction Shakespeare; Ghostlight Theatre; Carpenter Square; The Pollard; Oklahoma Children's Theatre; and Namron Player's Theatre; as well as for over 20 years with Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park. Tours and residencies have taken her throughout the state and beyond. She has worked as an Artist in Residence with the Oklahoma Arts Council, and has taught improv and acting with UCO for over 20 years. At OKC Improv she has taught upper level adult and teen classes. She has worked with several area improv groups, including The MiDolls, Artful Codgers, The Grownups, Femme(s) Aquas and, for the last 26 years, Everybody and Their Dog. Offstage she plays disc golf and refuses to give up on the Kansas City Royals (re) taking the World Series.
