Turning Norman Around Since 2012

Founded in 2012 by Norman natives Sarah King, Nick Bartell, and Cait Goddard, Namron Players Theatre began as a local collective of like-minded theatrical artists who wanted the opportunity to develop new work and perform projects they were passionate about. 2019 marked a reorganization and change of board leadership for NPT. Our current board is dedicated to carrying on the Namron legacy as well as creating new programs and projects.
Meet Our Staff and Board of Directors

Sheryl Martin
ARTISTIC/EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Sheryl has worked with several theatres in the OKC and Norman area, including Street Players Theatre, Oklahoma Children’s Theatre, Carpenter Square, and the Sooner Theatre. While at Oklahoma Children’s Theatre Sheryl began writing and directing children’s plays and continued with her own company, 2x4 Productions. Sheryl received an Artistic Innovations grant from the Mid-America Arts Alliance in 2017, and Oklahoma StoryWorks was born. In January of 2019 Sheryl took over the reins of Namron Players Theatre from founder and former Artistic Director Sarah King Bartell, and is happily expanding on Sarah’s good work, adding storytelling and theatre skills workshops to the company’s programming, and exploring community-based projects.

Norman Hammon
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Norman has been kicking around the Norman arts scene since 1978 when he "fell in among artists and never looked back." Norman served as Company Manager and Development Director for the Street Players Theatre and is perhaps best known for his 35 years with the Norman tradition, Jazz in June. Along with providing development services for several other organizations, he has twice served as the Chair of the Norman Arts & Humanities Roundtable (an advisory committee he helped form), a term on the Norman City Council for Ward 7, and as a member of the Norman Arts Council. He is also the author of "Fund Raising...for the rest of us," writes opinion columns for the Norman Transcript, and has even dabbled in writing science fiction.

Kym Bracken
ACTING CHAIR | TREASURER
Since adopting the City of Norman as her home town in 1974, Kym has been involved with many theatre projects in the Norman and OKC area as an actor, stage manager and director. She was a founding member of the late, great Street Players Theatre, ultimately stepping into the role of Artistic Director. After a brief respite in the "secular" world, she followed her heart to the Sooner Theatre, where she maintained the position of Executive Director for nearly a decade. She served a term on the Norman Arts Council Roundtable, as a member of the Council itself, and NAC grant review panels. She also spent numerous years as a Board Member and officer for Jazz in June. Currently retired, she is happy to be putting her "nerdy" skills to use for Namron Players Theatre.

Sereta Wilson
SECRETARY
A long-time resident of Norman, Sereta is a past Norman City Council Member serving Ward 5 constituents. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with an M.A. in Liberal Arts Administrative Leadership. After spending 16 years working for Cox Communications she left the telecommunications industry to pursue a more entrepreneurial endeavor, opening Annie’s Ruff House Doggy Daycare and Boarding Studio in 2009. In 2019, she and her husband Rob opened Yellow Dog Coffee Company. Both Sereta and Rob believe deeply in the philanthropic business model, and 12% of their profits go to Annie’s Rescue Foundation angel fund that supports medical needs of animals in Norman’s municipal animal shelter.

Erin Smith
MEMBER AT LARGE
As an active member of the Oklahoma fine arts community Erin has worked for the Arts Adventure Foundation, a fine art summer camp for 6th-12 grades, at Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa in many capacities since 2004. Erin currently serves as Vice Chair and Director for the Arts Adventure Foundation. Erin also enjoys volunteering for local theaters; cleaning houses/caring for animals with Norman company 2 Green Chicks; learning how to grow things; and taking road trips with her boyfriend and fellow artist, Andy West. They recently became central Norman homeowners and are excited to make renovations to their unique home.
